Implementation research in geriatrics: an opportunity to build healthy aging

El envejecimiento poblacional es un fenómeno global y particularmente acelerado en América Latina y el Caribe (ALC). Lamentablemente, aún estamos viviendo un aumento de la esperanza de vida, pero con una expansión de la discapacidad. En ALC, las personas que cumplen 60 años tendrán por vivir en promedio 23 años más, de los cuales los últimos 10 aproximadamente, serán con dependencia de cuidados y mala salud (1).
